This site is a tribute to the Legend Geoffrey Hallam. He was much loved and will always be remembered for his unique standout character. Geoff was an only child but this didnt mean he was shy or quiet, he was always surrounded by friends and people that were drawn to his lively and infectious personality. He thrived on being the centre of attention, the life and soul of any party with a repertoire of sayings and songs that rolled off his tongue naturally.
Geoff married Rosemary on 8 August 1964 and with their two daughters, Dawn and Debra, created a family life that centred around Steam Railways, Traction Engines, Vintage Vehicle Restoration washed down with good slurp of Burton Brewing History. These hobbies , aside from his work in the Electrical Contracting World, travelled Geoff and his family around Wales and the Midlands with a washboard, thimbles, flat cap and neckerchief in tow. Geoff made many contacts over the years in various Rally Fields, crewing a range of engine lines and entertaining many a folk with a tune accompanied with slurp of port.
Geoff will be remembered by many for organising robust line ups of Steam Exhibits and establishing well attended events at the Bass Museum from 1981 through to 1995. These times hold very fond memories not only for his daughters but the many friends, staff and exhibitors that were involved.
One of Geoffs most used words was Champion....and wasn't he just that....a Champion.
